The cabins and shepherd hut all have Solar Panels for lighting, fridges and USB phone chargers.
Even on the worst of our winter days, there should be plenty of power stored in the batteries to light up your evenings, but please turn off any lights not needed or when going to bed as this will help conserve the batteries for your morning.
Hot water is on demand via a gas boiler and should run continuously for the duration of filling a sink or taking a shower. It is best to turn the hot taps on full to ensure the boiler registers demand and wait a few seconds for the hot water to pull through. Very occasionally there may be a slight drop in water pressure (if for instance the horses all drink from a trough, etc) and this can sometimes be detected by the gas boiler which in turn temporarily stops heating the water. A momentary invigorating cool shower can result and is unfortunately the result of our cabins being around ¼ mile away from the mains.
